1.3 miles to the falls took me about 30mins. Lots of fellow hikers who only venture to the falls. If you are going further, be prepared to get feet wet, have water shoes, or take showers off from some crossings. To the lake is long but worth it!

We attempted to make it to pine creek Lake but decided to town back a little more than 3 miles in due to hard packed snow that was going to take you very far and fast down if you lost your footing. The rest of the trail was an ass kicker, but it was awesome. Lots of rocks and trees to get over/under/around and lots of elevation gain. I want to go back maybe when there's no snow and complete the hike.

Great hike to the lake, but not for everybody. It's quite steep in some places. Must bring a lot of water or a purifying straw. There are streams and waterfalls along the way. Part of the trail is under the sun. Watch out as snow hits early at those altitudes. Carry bear spray.

We tried to reach the lakes, but lost the trail in the snow around mile 4. This is a difficult trail. It took over 4 hours, through a couple river crossings, mud, and we finally turned around when we couldn't stand the thick snow anymore. Wear hiking boots. Views were stunning, waterfalls from the melt water everywhere!

Absolutely gorgeous. Trust all the other reviews and comments: this hike is not easy. The uphill is grueling and at some points a scramble. There are several river crossings, wear proper shoes! Well worth it for the views, but pace yourself.
