Timber Ridge Lodge Motel Walking Distance from Gatlinburg Downtown

The best feature of this place is the price, unfortunately once you arrive you understand why it seemed like such a good deal. It seems they made an attempt to revamp the place, but unfortunately the atmospheric issues are a product of the places age. Some minor decor and furniture changes were not sufficient. I do not enjoy writing a negative review, as the receptionist was very nice and helpful, but unfortunately hospitality can’t make up for this place. Also, the front desk is only open until 10, just an fyi. I do not trust that the place is clean, as there was a dead cockroach in a drawer that seemed to have been there a while. There were very few other customers, and after staying I can see why. The door to our room was off kilter, so much so that you could partially see outside. The

Was nervous due to a few bad reviews but we had a great stay. Room was clean. Bed was the most comfortable. Furniture was cheap quality but good for motel. Only one staff full time and someone else coming in and out during day as it's a small place but all that mattered to us was that we had a good place to stay night. Will return

Jan. 23rd 2026 I arrived at the Iodge. Night one i woke up with a big bump on my head. I didn't think much of it thought it was a mosquito bite. Night 2 I wake the next morning covered in bumps on face, arms and shoulders. I said this aint mosquitoes. I went to the front desk and reported the issue this morning around 10:30 a.m. about a bed bug issue and requested my room be changed. The owner asked all these questions, which I answered to the front desk clerk. The clerk even sent her pictures of the bumps on my body. The clerk said if she doesnt respond she'll change my room for my safety. It's now 4:35 pm and there has been no response to the lady at the front desk as to whether she can let me change rooms or not. I was tired, and I wanted to lay down but I wasn't getting in that bed. Positive: "" Negative: The floor was nasty and the sheets looked ans smelled liked they haven't been washed and was stained. The handle fell off the shower.

Room was disgusting. The shower only stayed warm for about 20 min and the drain so slow we were ankle deep when we got out. The mirror was cracked and all bathroom fixtures were loose and falling off. Half the lights and outlets didn’t work and they said they were under construction (which wasn’t disclosed on their web site). We asked for 2 extra pillows and were told there was only one. No housekeeping, the only time we saw them was when people left. It says walking distance to down town which is true but don’t mention it is strait up hill on the way back for about a half mile. I’ve stayed in some bad places including tents in the army and I would choose the tent and the desert before this place.
