Thousand Trails Lake Whitney

Ok park. Road the worst I’ve been on. Desk host was amazing. Sites unleveled. Trail to lake was nice. Lodge really dated and ceiling stained.

We visited 3 different site options that were too small before calling and then offering us a pull through. Wish we could have been offered that from the get go bc the roads here are very broken with lots of potholes and we have a larger RV. Positives: It does feel like more of a wilderness campground which we liked. Lots of road runner birds which were fun to spot!

The area is nice and quiet, however the roads are in really bad shape...there are so many pot holes all over and the trees are overgrown - not sure if this is duebto being here during "winter" but hopefully its better maintained in the summer. Pool is large and there is a hot tub! Gym was okay, its better to go on hikes - they have a lot of trails for walking.

Just awful. ZERO maintenance. Over half the sites are out of order. The open sites are in such bad shape. Trees have taken over. You cannot get your rig in them without scratching it unless you’re small. Trees downed from wind damage just sat there. No one came by to clean them up. The roads are beyond terrible. We will avoid this place like the plague.

If the roads weren’t SOOO bad this may be 5 star review. Looks like they have trimmed trees in the individual sites since we were here last. That is a major plus, however they have limbs down between the sites that should have been hauled off. Some sites have pretty bad foundations. Ours was old asphalt (where it remained) gravel and mud. They have remodeled the office. I wish they had resurfaced the sites and fixed the roads instead. The office wasn’t a problem for the guests! Both pools were open. The adult lodge and pool appears to no longer be adult, but that is fine with me. The trails need some attention, that is one thing I love about this park.
