Thomson Causeway Recreation Area

This is such a great camping spot. It's a beautiful area right on the Mississippi River. There are many sites for campers and tents, some with water and electricity hook ups and others that are primitive. The cost is low and it's completely worth it.

Awesome campground and very affordable! We stayed at site 98, fairly close to water with great views, good sized site! A little less crowded than the main campground area, right by bathroom,showers,playground

First time staying here. Have drive through in the past. Family from Thomson. Impressed with the shade and quietness of camping. Everyone was very respectful. All spots were full. The only issue was site 110. This is not a good site for a 32’ or longer travel trailer or RV. It is right next to a drainage ditch with a 3’ rocks stacked to protect you from going in the ditch on the drivers side. Drainage on the passenger side. Even with my experience it took a few attempts to get in. Once in. Great shade. Also with only 3 dump stations. Do not be in hurry to leave. Be patient and it will be your turn in no time. Or you can leave earlier on your check out day. Very pleasant experience. I understand why campers come from surrounding states.

Nice little spot along the great northern trail. Clean restrooms some seating to relax.

Thomson is a hidden treasure campground right on the Mississippi River with plenty of campsites. The sunsets are spectacular
