The Wilderness Lodge and Cabins

The cabins are fabulous. Anyone coming here would be satisfied with the view. The reason this review is two stars is because the owners kept calling me when I was trying to sleep. I was angry that NONE of the cabins have paper towels.|We planned an expensive grouse hunt in the fall and I expect that:|1) The owners answer their phones and their doorbells.|2) The cabins have PAPER TOWELS to clean up messes|3) That the owners don't pester you over and over because you're unsatisfied that the cabins do not have paper towels.|But here's the part that really grinds my gears. I had already gone to bed and was called by the Wilderness Lodge owners. She called me once and hung up. Then I called back and I expressed my dissatisfaction that nothing to clean up messes was in the cabin. I mean ... come

The wilderness lodge is probably your best bet for Turtle Lake and Bigfork, MN area! Are you looking for remote with full amenities? Quite serenity somes this place up the best in my opinion. Ben, the owner, is super knowledgeable about the area and the history of the area, always able to help with appropriate suggestions for food and activities, including food! Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and book a stay if up north is your thing you will not be disappointed. Wilderness lodge always puts your needs and stay experience #1. Stayed here for our wedding and it was beyond perfect! The owners are amazing and we can't wait to make the trip back.

My family has vacationed on Big Turtle Lake for over 50 years. We know the area and this particular lake quite well. This year we stayed at The Wilderness Lodge for the very first time and we were not disappointed. Us family gals are very, VERY picky when it comes to cabin cleanliness and a well stocked "cook's" kitchen. Our cabin was super charming, ultra clean, with everything needed to cook for a family. All of the little details really made this vacation memorable! Our hosts, Ben and Birgitta, are friendly, present and very easy to work with. And did I mention the best view on the lake, fantastic fishing, a gorgeous beach plus PEACE AND QUIET! No shenanigans, just a lovely, pristine place to stay. Counting the days 'til next year:)!

Rented all the cabins over Labor Day Weekend for our family to stay at for our wedding. The cabins are all so beautiful and unique. The resort is amazing! It's so beautiful, peaceful, and we had endless fun! The beach, campfires, and amazing lake made for the best family weekend. We can't wait to come back!
