Customer Reviews
We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Inn! Mindy is a fantastic host and made us feel right at home. Together with the sweet cat Patches, she gave us such a warm welcome. Thank you for that! The place was spotless and well-kept. The beds were comfortable and the shower was warm. We felt incredibly comfortable here. We advice Sunset Inn to other people.
Positive: The two staff members we saw were courteous and kind. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, shower was hot, and price was reasonable. Negative: Breakfast. I don’t expect much, especially at this price, but when you advertise your “breakfast buffet” on your rolling marquee, I expect a little more than a few carb options. No protein at all.
BEDBUGS!! BEWARE OF SKETCHY MANAGEMENT! Stayed here last summer and we found bedbugs as soon as we got into our room for the night. The room was also noticeably dirty. We tried to get a refund from the manager, Daniel Romero. He denied our refund and was very combative, blaming us for the bedbugs. I found a report on a bedbug site that showed that there had been bedbugs noted a week before by another person in our same room. I have warned everyone I know about this place as it seems to be a good deal and is near the sand dunes. Avoid this place at all costs, we ended up having to get another hotel late at night and were out a lot of money. Edit to respond to owner: We definitely stayed there, met your cats and have a video in your lobby of Daniel being less than professional. Others have
I found an affordable hotel! A friend and I stayed here for two nights while going to see the Sand Dunes National Park, Zapata Falls, Crestone, the Alamosa Wildlife Refuge and the Russell Lakes State Wildlife Area. The hotels is off the beaten track but not by far, about two blocks off the busy Hwy 160. It's a cozy hotel with good amenities: on-site parking, breakfast, comfy beds, microwave, fridge, TV, aircon, desk and two chairs, and plenty of closet space. The bathroom is large and the shower was good. And the staff was very pleasant and helpful. For two nights, with breakfast, we paid a total of $178 (including taxes)!
Great value for money. The room was so clean especially the bathroom. The gentleman working in the kitchen was so kind and so was the owner who made sure everything was fine. They also have a few lovely cats roaming. Definitely recommend.
