The Silver Lake Lodge

The bathroom and bedroom was very clean and the whole space beautifully decorated — welcoming, cozy, and clearly well cared for. We highly recommend booking at least one dinner on-site; we enjoyed it so much we dined there both nights. We found it worth the price, especially since it saves the drive down to Idaho Springs and allows you to simply head upstairs to your room afterward — such a treat for a relaxing, romantic getaway. We loved spending time in the family room doing a puzzle, watching a movie, and playing games, and we took a couple of lovely walks during our stay. We stayed at The Silver Lake Lodge just outside Idaho Springs for six nights, and it was absolutely fabulous. Because we booked directly through the lodge’s website, we enjoyed a delicious five-star breakfast each morning, which was a wonderful bonus. John, the host, was charming, incredibly helpful, and truly made our stay even more special. Waking up each morning to snow-covered mountains and trees right outside our window felt magical and set the tone for the entire trip. The location was perfect. We used the lodge as a home base while exploring the surrounding area, including Red Rocks, Winter Park, the quaint town of Golden, and beyond. We had an awesome experience here as part of a winter family destination wedding! John went out of his way to help our family get things set up ahead of time and provided excellent service while we were there! It was a unique experience to have a wedding with mountains in the background at 10,500 feet. We rented the whole place and were able to use the kitchen as needed, but then were also able to have a gourmet dinner and breakfast set up. It was beautiful and we truly appreciate John's hospitality and flexibility!

Our visit to this B&B was simply wonderful! It's located high in the mountains, surrounded by breathtaking beauty, but only 20 minutes from Idaho Springs. The lodge is beautiful and the room was extravagantly comfortable. The common areas, e.g., the dining room, game room, and living area, are very well-furnished with comfy seating -- very inviting!||The breakfasts were amazing, and Andrew and Margaret were perfect hosts. Their attentiveness to providing exceptional hospitality made our visit so memorable. We highly recommend this mountain hideaway when you're visiting this area!

I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a quaint, romantic getaway. My fiancee and I stayed here a night as part of her birthday weekend festivities. It is not far from Denver, making it great for staycations. The lodge itself is wonderful, cozy, and intimate. We booked the smallest room the lodge offers but still felt comfortable and at home. We arrived, had dinner in Idaho Springs, and spent the night playing cards and board games in the common room by the cozy electric fireplace. There are no tv’s in the rooms which made our stay even more special. The bedsheets were so comfortable and soft and lovely. BREAKFAST here was amazing and wonderfully served — the proprietor served us each course one dish at a time all while we were enjoying beautiful Mountain views. The lodge
