Wish I could leave a review based on my stay, but I never even made it that far. I booked on a Sunday through a third party and selected to pay on arrival. Received a call from a very rude man on the day before we were supposed to arrive and two days after I had booked, telling me that the reservation wasn't valid and the room I booked had been given away! There is a small notice on their site that you must pay in advance for holiday stays, but it did not say that when I booked through the third party and was given the option to pay on arrival!!! The man who called me made it seem like it was my fault that the booking site let me select the pay on arrival option. The owner Sam is a gem, he always is around ready to help with anything you need with his dog. The place is a little older but Sam does a great job making it feel like a home. If you’re looking for a quiet quick place to stay I would highly recommend.

We made a reservation for Valentines Day 2 weeks prior. After going to the hot springs and showing up at Columbine Inn to shower and get ready for dinner, the office was closed. My partner, who reserved the room over the phone weeks prior, called the owner to ask how to check in. The owner then tells us that he doesn't have us on the books. My partner reminded him we had a reservation. The owner then claimed that his system had been "hacked" and he lost all the reservations. He also said he was booked and didn't have any more rooms available. He clearly overbooked or didn't put our reservation into the system and made a stupid excuse for it. We drove 2 hours to get there and being evening on Valentines Day, didn't expect there to be other options in such a small town. We had to book a tiny

We had a wonderful stay at this cute little hotel! There was an issue with the room that I originally booked, but Sam more than made up for it and the room we stayed in was perfectly fine for the night. Bed was really comfy, location was great, parking was a breeze, it was quiet, clean and comfortable. We look forward to staying here again! Truly cannot overstate how nice it is to deal directly with the owner of a small business vs a faceless corporate hotel. Sam truly provided exceptional service and we were so happy with our stay.

Sam is great! We got in to town late after a rough hiking trip and he hooked us up with a great room. Most other inns or hostels in the area were quoting us super high or not answering the door. Great service, great room, and great experience. Thanks Sam!
