The Shire of Montana

This was the best adventure I could have gone on! They have the cutest fairy and hobbit houses. We discovered this place from the main road and decided to take a detour. Best idea ever! A bit further down they had a barn with a beautiful art gallery inside and a picturesque pond with an island in the middle. On this little island is the Hogwarts Castle! The main large hobbit house is available to rent and stay in! Basically this place is nerd heaven and I can’t wait to come back again!

This experience was a total letdown. We made arrangements to visit a good month before we planned on visiting. My husband called and made sure everything would work out before we made the reservation, including making sure my small Service Dog would be welcome. He was assured it would not be a problem since she is a Service Dog. Two days before we were due to leave, we get a call. They were cancelling our reservation because the owner didn't want dogs of any kind there. 1. Such short notice, they should have followed through with their obligation that we could come. And everyone we've told about this fiasco agrees with us. 2. It's against Federal Law not to allow a Service Dog in any facility. 3. She is a small dog, 5 lbs., and is very well trained. 4. They do list dogs aren't allowed, BUT

Thanks, Steve and Chris, for accommodating us at this magical place. We enjoyed every minute of our stay; your attention to detail is impeccable. We highly recommend a stay at The Shire of Montana to Hobbit fans and, really, to anyone looking for a comfortable and whimsical retreat.

Quiet place for peace and quiet in our hustle and bustle world. The Hobbit attraction is well done and great for Tolkien fans. The amenities are excellent also. Highly recommend it for a quiet weekend!

I'm a HUGE fantasy fan for real. I could watch LOTR, HP, Hobbit etc over and over! Well done recreation of the Shire from LOTR or Hobbit books/films! Got kind of creeped out to be honest because i could hear creepy laughter upon inspection of the guest house! Sounded like an older lady hobbit to be honest. Still creeps me out lol.
