The Ruse Healdsburg

Small boutique property in Healdsburg, CA with pool, hot tub, large well maintained putting green, Bocce ball courts , pickleball courts , breakfast , self serve wine bar. We stayed in one of the cottages with a gas fireplace in January. It was crisp out so we appreciated the fireplace. This is a very nice property - comfortable bed, room and bath with patio overlooking the putting green. It was pretty chilly so we did not take advantage of the outdoor facilities but they would be great during the warmer months. I would stay here again.

Finally getting around to reviewing The Ruse from our wedding weekend last year! Our family stayed here and we hosted our welcome event on the grounds. Christine and Derrick were great to work with. The food was absolutely stellar - both at our welcome drinks and appetizers event and the breakfast that came with the rooms. Really set everyone up well for the big day ahead. The staff went above and beyond. Professional but also genuinely helpful - they even helped us carry stuff when we were rushing around getting ready for the ceremony. The rooms were beautifully furnished and spotless, which was perfect for unwinding after all the festivities. We spent a night and was pleasantly surprised. Felt like a resort with wonderful amenities and chef cooked breakfast in a beautiful atmosphere. Wish it was warmer so we could use the pool and hot tub and play some outdoor sports there but no so lucky with the weather. We stayed in a free standing cottage that was super cozy. Huge bathroom and the most comfortable bed I've been in, in a long time. The fireplace was a plus too. The only drawback is if you are a light sleeper, then the the morning you won't be happy as the traffic noise from the busy street will wake you up quite early. It's in a residential neighborhood but a main road. I'd choose a room toward the back of the property away from the street next time. It was called the Squire cottage. Don't miss out on this terrific gem.

Really beautiful property with well maintained extra amenities. Very nice private pickleball courts and putting green all set in a quite and tranquil area. Room was modern and well cleaned with an extra comfortable bed.

The Ruse is a bed and breakfast with amenities like a hotel. The main building has rooms on the second floor that are meticulously maintained and balconies with comfortable seating. There are also cottages along the heated swimming pool and hot tub. The patio has outdoor heaters and fire pits. Breakfast is included and excellent and you can get wine, coffee etc all day long in the dining room along side the pool. Then there is two bocci courts, an 18 hole natural grass putting green and 5 pickleball courts with seating in all areas. It is walkable to the town of Healdsburg which has fantastic restaurants, shops and parks. There are also many wineries in healdsburg within 10 minutes of the rooms. Can’t recommend it enough. I’ve stayed many times in Napa but this was truly exceptional.
