The Rosemary Hostel

We stayed here on a Friday night a weekend or so ago. This is a prime location for enjoying Los Feliz and easy access to the 101. I grew up in Los Angeles and usually stay at my mom's on the west side when I'm in town but I have always loved this area and enjoyed this vibe. The building and rooms are very cute and unique in decor. Even though there is a shared bathroom it felt like we were the only ones staying there. The bed was extremely comfortable and the great touches such as robes, and the communal kitchen helped you to get comfortable so if you had food from a restaurant you could put it in the fridge. This is my 2nd time staying here and it was just as great as the first. I really appreciate how clean the place is despite it being a hostel. Walls are a little thin but earplugs are provided so it’s not a big deal. Staff is very helpful and responded to texts almost instantly. Great place!

The WiFi was too slow to use, I had to just use my phones hot spot to work. The shower didn’t get as hot as I would have liked. The rest was good, street parking wasn’t bad. I stayed in the studio which is separate, which may have made things different.

I want to share this so others are aware: this is not a hotel, it is a hostel. There is no on site staff (which we were aware of), and the bathrooms and showers are shared. Unfortunately, we felt misled by the listing, though I will say the woman we spoke with on the phone was very kind. If you’re looking for a budget friendly option and don’t mind roughing it, this may be a fit. But if you’re expecting the comfort of a hotel….this is absolutely not the place.

I'm in LA a lot for business and only really need a place to sleep, this place is perfect. Super convenient and affordable no frills accommodations. Love that it's self check in and I don't have to deal with any front desk nonsense. Super cozy and comfortable.
