The Rathershacks

We had a great time in the Happy Shack! It was clean and in a great location. A stones throw from the beach and a short walk to the main drag. The owner was very responsive if we had questions. I highly recommend the Rathershacks if you’re looking to stay on Folly Island.

We stayed at the Beach Shack end of August. This is old school beach, in the best possible way! Location and photos accurate as portrayed. In fact, the furniture in living space was upgraded nicely since the photo! A pleasant surprise. Very clean. Very comfortable beds. Everything you need really is there as promised (we overpacked). Steps to the beach, where we encountered mostly locals living their day to day lives- very down to Earth. Not crowded. Past the Pier to your right, things changed quite dramatically with more of a resort feel. We were very glad our location was so wonderful. Each sunrise was stunning. Katt had great communication throughout. Covered & uncovered eating spaces outdoors with an outdoor shower to shed sand and one car off street parking space were a plus.

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary on Folly Beach, the place we spent many days 15 years ago. The Rathershacks were perfect for us and had everything we needed. We rented bikes for the day from Matthew from Cool Breeze as suggested and he was such a cool, kind guy. He let us keep the bikes for an extra day at no charge. Overall just a relaxing spot with pleasant people. Can’t wait to come back with our kids!

Absolutely fabulous! The owners put thought into every detail of these beautiful “shacks”. Don’t be fooled by the name. I felt like I was in a 5 star resort! Such beautiful furnishings and designer touches. All are in a GREAT location so close to the beach and all the fun that Folly has to offer. We will be back!!
