The North Shore Inn

I have always had an affinity for Long Beach Island. I consider it the most picturesque and quintessential stretch of beaches and beach towns in New Jersey. In the summer of 2023, I was searching for an ideal establishment at which to stay for my vacation on the Island. The Island boasts a wide array of different lodgings along its 18 miles, but after searching for many weeks, I found the North Shore Inn in the charming, quiet, north-end town of Barnegat Light. I booked an efficiency room. The folks who own the Inn are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful! They have plenty of suggestions of things to see and do if you're in need of inspiration -- and the coffee is on all day in the front office (which I greatly appreciate as a coffee enthusiast)! The cozy, clean rooms are always well-kept

This place was recommended by family nearby. The room with a kitchenette was available and it helped reduce food costs. Beds were good and bathroom nice. Really enjoyed the outdoor shower area. My granddaughter met lots of people including staff that made her happy! Overall I would recommend it.

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights with our grandchildren. We were handled beautifully from the booking all the way to the end of our stay. We could not have felt more cared for or more welcomed. The inn is one block from the beach, and it's a very quiet beach. There are lifeguards and the beach is very clean. Two or 3 blocks north is the lighthouse, Andy's souvenir shop, and a quaint restaurant. Also close to an assortment of quaint shops and a museum. The room was modest and clean, with a large bathroom, small fridge, and wifi. The beds were firm and extremely comfortable. Also a table and two chairs by the window. Very quiet, even during the day. We couldn't have been happier, and will go back there again.

We love this hotel our new favorite place to stay. Quiet, clean, simple, older but everything we needed at a fraction of the prices of hotels elsewhere on island in a beautiful low key area. Its a family owned business, the owners are great helpful, the people who come there are friendly and its a really nice place we will return to again. It is thankfully NOT a sterile white expensive Hamptons type hotel run by "investors." It is comfortable easy going place. Happy with everything. Nature preserve walking trails and Lighthouse nearby and a few restaurants.

This is a no frills, clean, budget friendly place. The owner is nice and makes you feel welcome. The room is very clean and the price very reasonable for the season. It is very close to the beach and beach badges are offered for free with your stay. There’s fresh hot coffee every morning. I will be back!
