The Mountainside Inn & Condos at Swain

We love the Swain Resort! Their properties are clean, affordable, and convenient to the slopes. This was my fourth year of ski-cation with my grandchildren who attended Swain's kids ski camp . We have stayed at Trainside, Snowbird and Deer Valley (twice) and we have loved them all. We are already looking forward to next year's SKI-CATION!

We took the family for an overnight ski trip and had a blast!!! We stayed in Train Side which is directly off the parking lot by the ski lift going up to Clark. Location was great for the kids to access the cottage from the hill. Will definitely be planning another trip for next season!!!

What a quaint little treasure. My husband and I have traveled a lot, but somehow we have missed Letchworth State Park, until now. While looking for a place for home base, I found the Swain Ski Resort. Because it was off season for them we got a great deal. We took advantage of the full kitchen and cooked many of our meals. The gas fireplace gave it a very cozy vibe. Breanna was super attentive and quickly answered any of our questions before and during our stay. There was a welcome email the day of check in and a departure email at the end of our stay. The meal we had at The Sierra Inn across the road was actually better than our meal at the Glen Iris (and less money as well). The train came through almost every night if not 2 X a night, but we love trains so that didn’t bother us at all,

The only word I can use to describe our stay was weird. When we first arrived, there were stinkbugs in the kitchen and bathroom. We’re pretty understanding, so we didn’t bat an eye at it. We get it- bugs get inside sometimes. We settled in, went to the bathroom and the toilet doesn’t flush. Or at least it randomly flushes sometimes. Then we took a shower the first night we got there in the carpeted bathroom. The next morning, the facility manager was unlocking our door as we were laying in bed half dressed. No knock, no “excuse me”. We opened the door for him to tell us there was a leak downstairs from us showering in the very shallow stand up shower. He barely apologized for intruding into our room. As someone who’s worked in a LOT of hospitality jobs, I was so surprised they didn’t look

Nice comfortable room, self check-in. I booked my trip last minute to see fall leaves up at Letchworth and didn’t realize it was an Air BnB as you can book it via the ski resort site. A ski resort near me has a hotel so I thought it was just off season discounted hotel room. No big deal. I had trouble actually finding the place because didn’t realize it was separate from the ski resort. It’s very close but not at the address that “Swain resort” takes you to (it’s just down the street some). Swain is a small town and very friendly, so the waitress at the restaurant across the street pointed it out to me as I ate dinner there. It is hard to find in the dark.
