The Lodge at Riverside

Stopped for the night here on a west coast road trip. I knew I liked the hotel the moment I stepped inside and saw the big fireplace in the lobby. At check-in I was told that fresh baked cookies would be served in a half hour. 👍🏼Once inside my room, I looked out the window to see the river as a jetboat passed through the shallow rapids. I wish I had time to also do that. Enjoyed my stay and got a good night's sleep before continuing on to Crater Lake the next morning.

We love this place! George was incredible during our check in. Complimentary local wines, cheese and crackers, and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! Add that to a toasty crackling fireplace and we almost put our PJs on and tried sleeping in the lobby! Rooms are nice with super comfy beds. I kinda wanted to buy the comforter! Also, got to watch probably 5 or 6 different water fowl from our balcony.

I picked this lodge for many reasons including the great reviews. It was fantastic! We checked in and Denise was at the front desk. She was absolutely wonderful, courteous, helpful and professional! She was always ready to answer any questions we had or provide suggestions for our area travels. Our room was on the river with a balcony. It was extremely clean and a good size. We enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese in the evenings as well. It is amazing how they utilize the grounds to make every inch of space enjoyable -- such as the small outdoor seating area near the lobby. It was a pleasure to stay there!

Positive: The people of Grants Pass are refreshingly down to earth, that said, the staff was efficient and gracious, the restaurant in walking distance was amazing, location was beautiful, and had a laid back and fun vibe. Top five in my lifetime. Negative: Nothing to report bad about this property, was just passing through but will be going back even as a destination because I liked it so much.

We met a wine proprietor Kyle Cameron of Trecini Cellars of Sebastopol , California! He gave out samples of his Trecini Sauvignon Blac& it was excellent. I'm excited to be able to tour this establishment, Kyle is very passionate of his wine making abikities& it shows in the taste, body & aroma of the wine we tasted! Thankyou Kyle..we will visit soon!!
