The Lodge At Buckberry Creek

We loved our stay at The Lodge at Buckberry Creek! It was conveniently located to Roaring Fork, Sugarlands, Clingmans Dome/Kuwohi, restaurants, many hiking trails. Nicely located off the Bypass, it avoids the craziness of Gatlinburg when desired. Both Helen and Cindy were super responsive and passionate about the property. Our suite had everything we needed. Loved gathering in the posh robes in front of the fireplace to review our day and plan our next, and to start our day with a cup of coffee on the balcony. Hope to return some day.

2.5/5 ….to be fair, this room is clean, large and the views are very nice. Unfortunately, can’t say much more than that. This is NOT a lodge, and there is no staff present. It is all self check in. The pictures of the outside represent a lodge that once was here but does not exist anymore. Again, the rooms are large and the bathrooms a good size . There is a kitchenette area but absolutely no mixing bowls, no serving plates or bowls, no baking pans, no storage/freezer bowls, no toaster, and the pans for cooking are so limited we had to put a salad in a colander and struggled a bit with the small pans available when cooking spaghetti. I recommend that the owner and manager do a thorough walk through of each unit and make a list of items needed. Also, upgrade TVs to play Netflix and other

I loved everything and OMG, the view!! The coziness and the comfort of the room combined with the ease of checking in and out made the whole experience perfect. I can only imagine how extraordinary Buckberry Creek Lodge was before the fire.

Wanted restful mountain experience, moments from town; hit the jackpot! Easy booking and check-in, well-appointed room, responsive staff. Thanks to Cindy for accommodating request for ground floor. On day 3: perfect so far.

Sadly, there is no more “lodge” but the remaining rooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable. The view and location are what makes the place. Very quiet. We were treated one morning to be awakened by a singing whippoorwill. If you’re looking to avoid the craziness of Gatlinburg, this is the place to stay.
