The Lodge at Blue Lakes

I went to a lovely event. Apparently, there are new owners. I had fun and there could have been better and cleaner quality control. But overall I hope this new start offers tourists or adventures great hospitality. I was happy as a guest. Easy access, ample parking.

I had passed this place before and due to circumstance this trip, decided to stop because it was late and I was tired. So I wasn’t looking for a resort get away and can’t speak to that. Upon arrival at night I had trouble finding the front office, it’s in the middle of the rooms facing the road. But Barbra the manager, who had fielded my call and reservation while on the freeway on the fly, was pleasant and welcoming and checked me in. The heater/AC noise was noticeable when it came on, but not too loud to disturb my sleep. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable and reasonably price.

We stayed at The Lodge at Blue Lakes from September 25–28, 2025, renting the Executive Suite with high expectations. The suite included a full kitchen, living room, dining room, and a bedroom with an ensuite jacuzzi tub. While the space itself was roomy and the setting picturesque, our experience was far from what you’d expect at this price point.||On Day 2, the kitchen sink sprang a leak, causing water to pool beneath the sink. When we reported the issue, the onsite manager's only solution was to hand us two towels and suggest we use a plastic salad bowl to catch the leaking water. There was no offer to repair the problem, and no attempt to compensate us for the inconvenience.||Even more alarming, there was a surge protector sitting in the pooling water under the sink—a serious electrical

Honestly, I was pretty disappointed. I booked and paid for a king size room and received two doubles. The beds were very uncomfortable and very squeaky, not super ideal for a valentines weekend. The bathroom light/vent fixture was broken, and there were a ton of gnats flying around the room. Anytime I had a question with the front desk staff, they had a snarky response. Both over the phone and in person. The lake was beautiful but I would find a different location the next time I come up to this area.

Very disappointing stay and not what was advertised. This is not a lodge, but more like an outdated flat motel. The rooms were old and did not feel clean, with dirty bedsheets and doors that did not lock properly. We were also facing the road, which made it extremely noisy and difficult to sleep. The outdoor areas were poorly maintained, with uncut grass and neglected surroundings. Boats on the property were dirty and did not appear to be in working condition, despite being advertised as an amenity. Unfortunately, the staff were unprofessional and unhelpful, which made the experience even worse. Overall, the property felt poorly maintained, uncomfortable, and unsafe. I would not recommend staying here.
