Disclaimer; I grew up in Scituate and returned for a funeral. They couldn't have been kinder and even offered a discount given my circumstances. The ocean view; staring at the old pier that I'd walked as a child and perfect view of the lighthouse was emotionally nostalgic, to say the least. If you're looking for perfectly updated and 5 star, perhaps you'll be a bit disappointed. I was amazed. Though an older inn (originally named "The Clipper Ship"), the room was spotlessly clean. Our beds were perfectly comfortable. I came feeling sad for the loss of one of the most beautiful ladies Scituate has ever known, but being able to look out upon the old harbor, visit TK's and Sams and just relax, rather than stress about being too far away from the wake/funeral made all the difference. Yes
Positive: Spacious room, easy parking and location Negative: The pool is in a basement, not outdoors.
The Inn at Scituate Harbor is a quaint non-big company inn.|Every room has an ocean view, which is nice.|The Continental Breakfast is just OK.|The fact that they charge $12.95 per day for amenities that should be free is not.|That charge covers parking, wi-fi, coffee (not in-room) and the Continental Breakfast.|It's only $12.95 per day, so not worth making a big stink about it, but it's not disclosed when making a reservation.
What can I say about this place. What a disaster. I rented out essentially the whole hotel in the offseason for my wedding. During that time the employees couldn't have been worse. For a place that is in the hospitality industry, it's unfathomable to think they can be some incompetent. The other half of our guests stayed at Nantasket Beach Resort. Do yourself a favor and go there. This place is awful.
Edit: Really strange comment from the owner on this review. Originally review: Hotel was barebones and ultimately very overpriced. Views of the harbor were pretty, but were overshadowed by the less than ideal room arrangements for nearly $450 per night. They definitely capitalize on being the only player in town, even so I would not choose to stay here again.
