The Hotel Rhea

I needed a place to spend the night near the Amtrak station and discovered this wonderful place. I had made my reservation several months prior to my arrival. On two different times, I needed to communicate with Hotel staff. Lydia was amazing! She was prompt to reply to my messages and very polite and courteous when we spoke on the phone. I arrived into Walnut Ridge at 3AM and thankfully this place was within walking distance. Check in was very easy. I arrived to find a clean and comfortable room. It had everything I needed for my very short stay. I appreciated the Keurig coffee maker and small refrigerator. The Hotel Rhea was a rather interesting place to stay. We stayed two nights in the Hughes, two bedroom, suite. The suite was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The kitchen had a standard hotel type microwave, small refrigerator, bar sink and coffee maker. The suite was furnished like as an apartment and could be one if a regular size sink and appliances were added. ||This is an unconventional "hotel" that consists of four suites located in an old, downtown Walnut Ridge building. Three of the units are on the second floor and there is no elevator. The three, second floor units are accessed from a locked alley side door. The door to the fourth suite is next to the entry door. They use "Meeting-Less Check-In" which means there is no lobby, front desk or staff on site. Assistance is avai

I needed a place to spend the night near the Amtrak station and found this lovely place. I stayed in the Sample Room. The room was perfect for what I needed. I arrived into Walnut Ridge at 3AM. The room was within walking distance. The communication prior to my check in was amazing. Lydia was so kind, thoughtful and professional. |The room was so cute and extremely comfortable. It had everything I needed for my stay. I appreciated the Keurig coffee maker and small refrigerator. If I ever travel to Walnut Ridge again, I will most certainly stay at the Hotel Rhea.

We stayed in the Hughes Suite. It was incredibly spacious and clean. The staff responded to our one question regarding the code to the main door quickly. The one drawback (trains passing nearby and blowing their whistles) we already knew about and expected.

We enjoyed our stay at the historic Hotel Rhea. Our room was very clean and roomy. The only issue was the trains coming and going on a regular basis. I did not hear them myself but my wife did. It was difficult for her to sleep.
