The Homestead Barn at Dover Bay Resort

We had our wedding at the Homestead Barn in Dover Bay July 2025. It was absolutely beautiful & such a great venue. Highly recommend!

Save yourself a TREMENDOUS heartbreak and make sure to have the staff TRIPLE check your intended booking date!!!! I'm not typically one to go out of my way to leave such a bad review, but I feel the need to in this case. We went through what I could only describe as a wedding nightmare, due to a "double-booking error". Please keep this in mind before locking in a date! We booked and paid our deposit in February 2023 for our wedding to be held on 9/30/23. With our venue locked in, we planned every detail of our dream wedding over the next 7 months. We spoke with staff on numerous occasions before September, discussing payment and asking general questions. The management of this place is AWFUL! I have been trying to visit the Dover bay barn for over a month now. When trying to schedule a time it has been such a vague answer and when I respond with a day and time it somehow is inconvenient and doesn’t work. I drove up there from cda to then be told Saturday wouldn’t work when in the email it was “After 12 on Friday or the weekend” which I responded with “okay we will be there 12 on Saturday! Do I just look the place up on maps or what’s the best way to find it?” No response and when we got there it was oh no we can’t meet you there’s a wedding scheduled. That would have been nice to know. We try again because we know people have bad days and then we are answered with “Sunday after 10.” I then respond with “Okay we will be there 12 on Sunday.”

This barn is gorgeous, there's no doubt about that and there's no wonder why you can fall in love with it when looking for a wedding venue. BUT don't be fooled, the pictures online ONLY advertise it when it's decorated and wedding perfect. This barn is nothing more than an empty shell with a useless, greedy, lazy management that has no interest or care in customer satisfaction. They have a handful of picnic tables, a handful of barstools, broken pews, and some rickety tables. No decor upstairs in the barn whatsoever. When asked if the venue was able to move something for us, Patty (I think is her name in the office) responded "oh no, this is a DIY venue" and offered no guidance what so ever.
