The Historic Elk Mountain Hotel

We stayed as a Harvest Host member in our RV. This is one of the best Harvest Host locations we’ve ever found. The restaurant was outstanding. Be sure to try the charred Caesar Salad and the Pecan Cheesecake. Very tasty. Staff was friendly and timely. A great stay.

The hotel and our room were very clean and in an excellent condition. Situated in a quiet neighborhood in a small town you could sit outside for a drink and later on could have dinner in the restaurant with a very good cuisine. We had elk, it was grilled to perfection.|After dinner you find yourself in a historic room without TV which fits the historic background. Cozy rooms and friendly staff. The star of the show is the dining room. Excellent menu, gourmet quality food, exceptional desserts and a great bar with a nice cocktail selection and a great wine menu. Do not miss stopping in here for dinner or staying over for the evening... Guaranteed that it will not disappoint. We got so excited with our dinner, that we forgot to take pictures 😁

Stayed one lovely night at the Elk Mountain Hotel. It’s a rare historic hotel that both retains the charm of history while also having modern amenities—sturdy floors, modern bathrooms with big showers etc. Dinner and breakfast were incredible quality and well priced. Especially rec the chokecherry meatballs! Great views of the mountain if you walk up the road a bit, lovely grounds for reading and relaxing. FYI the WiFi is weak and there’s no AC, but on a July evening the room and the cool mountain air were perfect.

Our dinner experience was five (5) stars! We called ahead of time to confirm a late (7 pm) arrival and they were very accommodating. Thank you! Driving through the crosswinds in WY slowed us down quite a bit and I didn't take that into account in our RV. We had made a "Harvest Host" reservation a week in advance which allowed us to stay on property for one night. For dinner I highly recommend the grilled caesar salad that was out of this world amazing and the bison burger with fries was tasty. Their apple pie bar with vanilla ice cream for dessert was delightful. Everyone I spoke to was so friendly, and helpful. The server's were pleasant and attentive, and the seating was comfortable and nostalgic. There is quite a bit of history in the Elk Mountain Hotel. Definitely worth the trip. Th
