Gave a $250 gift certificate to my partner in Dec. 2020 (in the midst of Covid). He decided to use the certificate for my 65th birthday dinner in the Main Dining Hall Feb. 2026, but, it was declined. They said it expired after 5 years? WHHAATTTT. Humiliating and tainted our entire dinner experience. The card had no expiration date printed on it. When it was purchased I was not told it would expire. Why would I purchase a gift card that expired? I'd rather give someone cash or a check that doesn't expire. They seated us at a table next to young kids on what was supposed to be a romantic evening. So, our dinner, with very poor service, had to ask for water refills 2x and no recognition by the servers of my birthday, cost use almost $500.00 due to the loss of the $250.00 certificate. This is

My daughters and I enjoyed a two night stay. The older Dorothy Draper designs were gorgeous. The newer decor was very gaudy and harsh. We enjoyed the resort and the complimentary activities. The pool is a work of art. I was saddened to see the Greenbrier in such a bad state of ill repair. The architecture and older Dorothy Draper design elements were well worth the visit. Our room was surprisingly disappointing. It was comparable to a rundown cheap motel. Linens were not clean, bottom bed sheet didn’t cover a foot of the mattress! Too much to go into detail. Reviews by other people covered similar issues.

This is not a 5 star hotel. It’s pretty run down. I was there with my family so we had 4 rooms for all of us. There were issues in every room - mini fridges didn’t work, water pressure was bad, sinks clogged, shower head didn’t work properly, and more. You can also hear everything all night - toilets flushing, Water running, the train going by blowing its horn 3-4 times/night, loud ac unit. The elevators and paint on the walls are just not kept up with well. The decor is extremely outdated. We referenced “the shining” several times. Everything was also SO expensive. The only positive review from me would be the casino was pretty nice. I don’t recommend this hotel until they dump a ton of money into it.

My husband and I did a 3 night bus trip in early December to The Greenbriar. It is DEFINITELY worth a visit especially if you are in to history. The Dorothy Draper Decor is a refreshing assault on the senses! The vibrate colors are a throwback to a time before everything was some shade of gray, black and white! Given the carpeting and draperies it was delightful to sit in a large room and be able to enjoy conversation with all the ambient noise absorbed by the soft surfaces. We did the Bunker Tour where government was to shelter in event of nuclear attack. Fascinating how such a massive secret was pulled off in plain sight Fascinating! ! Breakfast in the main dining room was great and our diners in both the I Italian and steak restaurant were fabulous. The staff we dealt with were all frie

My family and I went to The Greenbrier for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. There were a few mishaps but they were sorted out. The room was nice however when booking the reservation they did not disclose that the floor our rooms were on was pet friendly. This caused some issues because some of our family had pet allergies and another other had to exchange their room due to non stop pet noises throughout the night. The rest of the experience went pretty well and was very enjoyable. The thanksgiving buffet was lovely and had many options to choose from. The following day we had the option to dine at the gala buffet which was the same price as the Thanksgiving buffet. We expected that it would be similar to the other meal in terms of atmosphere however it was not what we expected. There
