The Dorset Inn

I can not say enough about the Dorset Inn. From the moment you walk in the door it is warm and welcoming. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The room was quaint and spotlessly clean. The food is amazing and who doesn’t love a relaxing dinner in front of the fireplace? Every morning we were greeted by Scott at breakfast whose warm and friendly personality made for a great start to the day. At dinner our server Ilana was just as friendly and helpful with good advice on food choices. I don’t know the names of the people at the front desk but every one of them was also great. From the guided tour upon check in, to helpful advice on local sights, shopping and dining, nothing was lacking. Speaking of dining, the only reason to eat anyplace else is to try Pearl’s Place where the food was

My wife and I wanted to stay at the Dorset Inn for quite some time and so we booked a few nights there toward the end of October. We knowingly missed the peak leaf peeping season by about 10 days but it was still a peak photogenic trip. Our main focus was exploring neighboring towns that were known for their charm and we also wanted to see a few covered bridges. We visited Weston, Chester, Newfane, Manchester and Grafton and all (except for Chester) were quaint and had an abundance of charm. |With one exception, everything about the Dorset Inn was first class. Our dinners at their restaurant were great. My wife, who was born and raised in Maryland, is a renowned crabcake snob and she raved about their crabcakes. What a beautiful inn and so lovingly maintained and artfully decorated for Christmas. With a nod to past traditions each room was beautifully decorated and made for such a cozy and memorable stay. With so many inns in the NE this was the finest historically I have ever stayed in. The staff was helpful and charming and made everyone feel comfortable and very welcome. Start to finish the reservation was efficiently handl d and the follow up very well done. This was hospitality at its best. The food was wonderful and I highly recommend st least s two night stay!

The staff was amazing. Thoughtful, friendly, went out of their way!! Ambiance just beautiful! Christmas decorations everywhere, fires in all the common rooms. Accommodations were perfect. They thought of everything, even bowls, bed and toy for my pup! I had a perfect Christmas holiday at The Dorset Inn!!!

I can't rave enough about the joy of our stay at The Dorset Inn. We wanted to relax in a cozy setting with a sense of history, and the inn was exactly what we hoped for. From the time of our arrival, Amy, Kurt, and Danny at reception made us feel like old friends and gave us wonderful suggestions as to where to go and what to see. Our room was clean, comfortable, and roomy, and we loved our breakfasts and dinners in the Tavern and main dining room. The food was delicious and we loved the decor. Our servers, Allie and Hayley, were friendly and efficient, and TJ at the bar in the Tavern totally wrapped us into the fun. We are grateful that the innkeepers have preserved the historic feel and features of the inn and its rooms and have assembled such a wonderful staff.
