The Delavan Hotel

The rugs in the hallway were coming up making it a trip hazard. The chair in the room appeared to have come from a thrift store. The gum equipment was in adequate and some were broke in need of repair. We had supper which was very good. Service was good at the restaurant. Prices were a bit high but to be expected in lieu for atmosphere. I could not recommend this hotel to family or friends. The pillows were to fluffy and kept us awake. The bathroom had very little heat so you froze after taking a shower. Very very poor. People above us sounded like a herd of elephants that roamed all through the night. Very bad experience to what we are used to.

Positive: Friendly staff, decent room. Negative: The bed sheets are like sandpaper. Just absolutely terrible. Otherwise, the stay was excellent. But those sheets? Terrible.

We had a wonderful time during our visit. We enjoyed the live musical performance at dinner. It was a beautiful and sophisticated atmosphere, honestly making the whole evening special and boosting our enjoyment. And I “must” give a shout out to Sonny at the front desk. He was an absolute gem. His professionalism was top notch, he was attentive to our needs, and his genuine willingness to help was truly remarkable. He really went out of his way to make sure we had a seamless and pleasant experience, and it made a huge difference on our overall stay. The room was clean. The food and service was excellent. No complaints.

​I recently stayed at The Delavan Hotel near Buffalo, and while there is a lot to like about the property, my experience was marred by some service and maintenance issues. ​The Good ​The Rooms: The rooms are genuinely nice—modern, clean, and spacious. It’s clear they put effort into the design and comfort of the guest quarters. ​Parking: No issues here. There is plenty of parking available, and the lot feels secure and well-lit. ​The Not-So-Good ​Maintenance: The elevator had a very distinct, "funny" smell throughout the stay. It was strong enough to be off-putting every time we headed to our floor. ​Billing/Payment Issues: I am currently dealing with a frustrating payment issue. It pains me to write poor reviews on hotels having been in the industry myself, but I’m truly disappointed in this property after a one night stay. The lobby falsely promises an idyllic property with its exceptional front desk service and bright and cleanly interior, but the entire property does not meet the expectations set by such a neat front house operation. I first noticed that the phone in my room had no power whatsoever, no matter what buttons I pressed, and looked as though it had not been cleaned in over a year (grime and muck built up on all of the buttons and crevices).
