The Dartford Inn

Based on the previous reviews I was hesitant to book here but my boyfriend and I wanted to get out of town and decided to take a chance. It wasn’t really that bad. Ritz Carlton, no but we weren’t there to hang around in the room. It’s an old hotel about 5 minutes away from the downtown area. The room was clean, a little musty smell-which was easily corrected with a dose of Lysol spray It was quiet. The owner was nice and helpful. The bathroom was clean good water pressure. Air conditioning working great, and running in out room upon check in. Reasonably priced and will stay again green lake is great. Bring your boat canoe or kayak

Two stars only because the staff was nice. I went here not expecting high end but at least decent. No way. When we first checked in the maint. guy followed us in from the pool and said the clerk will be there shortly. I tried to make small talk about the pool and the guy said it was shut down due to it not being up to code by the health department. Not a good start. In the lobby there was junk piled all around and it smelled horrible, like BO and mold, like something out of hoarders. The clerk comes and gives us keys...to the room we did not book. We booked the 2 beds with a kitchenette. My husband goes back and shows the proof of what we reserved, from their own website mind you...not a third party site. The guy gives in and gives us keys to the room type we booked. The room smelled like

We booked quite late (10 days before) and the price was still affordable.|The room was a bit old but very clean, bathroom as well. Surroundings are really calm, absolutely no noise, so perfect night.|The breakfast in the morning was simple but nice... Espacially for the handmade waffle by the motel boss !!! He was very kind to us, very friendly, and we enjoyed his company.|For aviators, it is 30 min away from Oshkosh !||It’s cheap and we had a warm welcome :)

I stayed at the Dartford in 1985 when I came up to visit Ripon College, and I stayed there again last week for a reunion. As someone else said, perhaps not the place for a romantic getaway. However, it is clean, convenient and reasonably priced. I could see this being a great spot for folks who come up to fish or otherwise enjoy the area around Green Lake and plan on spending most of their time away from the motel. If you want full service and full amenities (at full price) there are palces in Green Lake that will accommodate you. If you need a clean, comfortable room, I'd check out the Dartford.

My sister and I love the Dodge Co. area, and go on a couple of sister's weekends a year. We took a chance at the Dartford Inn, even though it was a bit non-standard, as far as motels/hotels go. We stayed a long weekend last October ('12) and loved it! There weren't many others in rooms, which was fine with us. It's what one might consider a bit of roughing it in the sense that you have to bring your own soap & shampoo, etc. Towels, all cooking utensils, a stove, small fridge, and all other amenities are hidden behind these cool, retro cabinet doors in the small kitchen. The heat worked fine; the shower was adequate, but the views of the river were awesome! This place is so neat!
