Stayed here while looking to buy a home in Castine. Central location on Main Street within walking distance to shops, restaurants, pier, college, golf course, and town green. Each room is decorated differently and has lots of historical charm. Innkeepers are super sweet and helpful about sharing local information and happenings. Breakfast buffet was well stocked and featured freshly made pastries. Gardens and front porch are particularly stunning in the late Spring with many flowers in full bloom and nice weather.

We booked a night at the Castine Inn in room 10 based on the description and the photos online, which stated it was a corner room with twin beds convertible to a king bed and there was air conditioning. When we got to the room the words my spouse and I used to describe the room was depressing boarding house vibes. There were cracks in the walls, the furniture didn't match the photo, the floor slanted 6 degrees one way and 10 degrees another. The AC was a window air conditioner limiting the use of using the windows if desired. But the the final thing that caused my husband and I to check out after 15 minutes and book elsewhere was seeing a sign/warning to make sure the shower curtain was in the bathtub otherwise the water will leak into the room below us. Needless, this caused concern t

We had a wonderful time here for two nights in July 2025. The hotel and village were buzzing. This hotel has a cute pub, wonderful common rooms, and a can't beat breakfast that's included (pro tip: get the quiche). The rooms are quirky, I think in a good way. Sure there are some non-standard layouts and bathroom fixtures but if standard is what you want, then stay at the StandardStay Suites. They even allowed our dog Oscar to stay!

We stayed at the Castine Inn for one night but oh I wish we could have stayed longer. This is a turn of the century inn right in the heart of beautiful Castine. Easy walking distance to the down marina (full of boats and awesome views) or up-hill to the town green and community golf course. Everything in Castine is approachable in foot, ditch your car. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The public rooms on the first floor are tastefully decorated and the dining room has an exquisite mural painted by a local artist. On to the east side of the building is a huge wrap around porch with tables and sun umbrellas where we spent the late after and enjoyed drinks and felt so spoiled after along car ride. In view from the porch is a gorgeous garden with plantings of boxwood and day lilie

We planned a ten day, first time trip to Maine for October 2023. It was difficult finding lodging at the end of the season and for ten consecutive days in the area. When we contacted Castine Inn, Heather set our minds at ease and worked with us scheduling our stay, as well as detailing sight seeing options that are also featured on the website. The hospitality offered upon arrival by Innkeepers, Deb and Walt, rivaled any we could encounter in our southern state. They serve a delicious continental breakfast of local fruits, yogurt, and handmade muffins and scones that can’t be beat. Updates are being made to the Inn. Our room, #1, in the historic Inn offered charm with cleanliness, adjustable temperature controls, a comfortable bed, and space for our extended stay. All employees allowed us
