The Carolina Hotel

When you come with a group and you're one of the only ones they place in an off site building, reminiscent of the 1950s (and not in a good way). Excuse me!? The foundation in the building is off by feet, not inches. The building has a faint cigarette smell. The decor looks like someone's 90-year-old grandmother designed it. I called about being moved back to the group (due to my wife's disability) and was informed there were rooms available, but not accommodated. Talk about awful customer service. NEVER COME HERE unless you want to be treated like a second class citizen experience. That was the vibe and experience. I typically look forward to coming here all year and after this I never want to come back again.

Crazy crazy expensive. We knew that going in. Went for a wedding where the reception was at Pinehurst but for the price level the service did not match for the most part. I have to say that check in was the worst I have EVER experienced from a Holiday Inn Express to Pinehurst (and I have stayed in many a very expensive hotel). No staff to tell you where to park. No staff to pull your bags out of your car. I moved our luggage from the car to the lobby on my own only to be told to lug it back to the car to wait for a valet. This after a 7 hour drive to get there. Basically the guests in the drop off area were saying information amongst ourselves to figure it out. A very bad start to our stay. At check in no one said what was I included with our reservation or how to utilize the shut

Clean and comfortable. Great breakfast and dinner. Plenty of golf for all handicaps. Great staff, very courteous and aims to please everyone. My wife and I will be back to get massages and play the rest of the courses. Caddies are worth the money. Chance and Manny are top notch caddies!

Bring your ear plugs! This place is NOT luxury despite the price. The walls are so thin. I was in a room that was right above the dining room and they started the piano at 7am. I was on PST and had arrived at 11pm at night so the early wake up was not welcomed. The hotel basically told me there’s nothing they can do about it. I’d say the spa is also quite underwhelming. From the services to the amenities area plus a weird smell, I would not recommend for the prices. The redeeming quality was the food that’s why I gave it 2 stars.

What a BEAUTIFUL resort! If you love to golf (even if you don"t) The Carolina is a treat. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It was dressed for Christmas which made it that much more lovely. Restaurants, retail shopping, spa, or just sitting out on the wrap around porch with a glass of wine! Service is exceptional! Our rooms were well appointed and clean. The property of Pinehurst is enormous and has many places you can stay but we choose the Carolina and were glad we did. They have a shuttle that continuously runs between all of the hotels and courses. we will be back!
