The Carleton of Oak Park Hotel

Moving my reviews over from Yelp. Originally published 12-2019: This is a pretty nice place to stay. I generally gravitate towards the national chains that have rewards programs but that wasn't a possibility on an October trip to the area for an interview. I looked at the other independent hotels in the area and settled on this one based on their Yelp reviews. I'm glad I did. They are an easy walk from downtown Oak Park and the L. They also have off-street parking for guests. For those visiting OP for the first time, that's a HUGE benefit. "Don't Park" seems to be an unofficial nickname. I chose one of their lowest-priced rooms and found it perfectly comfortable and pretty spacious. Great location and the motor inn room exceeded my expectations! It is so rare to find a hotel bathroom with all the amenities, including well thought out grab bars. It was a delight! Next time I'm in the area, I'm definitely staying here.

I used the hotel’s dining service twice during my stay. Orders were taken accurately and delivered within the estimated timeframe. The service team maintained a calm attitude even during rush hours. It was well coordinated.

Booked a room for a short weekend break and the reservation confirmation was clear and detailed. The reception team explained the hotel policies without rushing. I had a minor issue with the shower pressure, but maintenance resolved it the same evening. Service follow-up was handled professionally.
