The Caboose Motel

Stayed after Titusville train ride. Room was very clean with nice wood on walls. Provided coffee and teabags and small fridge and microwave. Maintenance needed on decorative bedframe and bathroom fan switch didn't work. Good for one night stay. They are small because they were real caboose cars.

It was overall a good experience especially for the kids. It was nice to stay right next to the railway. Make sure you get there, or get back if you leave, before the parking lot starts filling up for the train ride. They should have reserved spots for those staying in the motel but they don't. When we arrived, there was no parking except for the temporary spots near the check-in office, which was not near our room. When we came back from breakfast, the lot was already starting to fill up for the 10am ride and we were lucky someone was leaving so we could get a spot near our room. The train cars have been transformed into cozy rooms. They have all the basics that you need (microwave, small refrigerator, small coffee pot, towels, toiletries). Convenience. Easy walking to various bars and restaurants nearby. Staff is wonderful. This isn't the Waldorf. Like everyone else, they appear short on staff. Room needed some dusting. Slept well on king bed. South side cars offer nice view of train depot, rr cars, and hillside. Deck to relax with coffee in early AM or other beverage in evening. Unique experience with sleeping in an old railroad caboose. Will definitely return.

Stayed here on out trip to the OC & T Railroad. Nice location, as everything in town was within walking distance. Very fun to sleep in a Caboose! I'd never thought I'd say I slept in a caboose, but now I can! Also features history about each caboose. Good price too!

The Red Caboose Motel offers one of the most unique stays/settings I’ve ever been. The cabooses are unique and updated with modern amenities. Our Large family caboose (28) was perfect for the 5 of us. The grounds are impressive, petting zoo fun, scenery beautiful and food fantastic. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the area. Well worth the travel and a must stay if you’re traveling close to Lancaster, PA.
