The Bungalows by Homestead Modern

What a fantastic experience staying at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center Bungalows! From the moment of booking, to the checkout, and everything in between!!! Quiet, great walks, wildlife viewing, shopping and food all on-site!!! Best relaxing, fun place that I have found in a long time. Thank you so much! I will be back :)

The bungalow was fine. The locarion is very good. Close to the park, restaurants, etc. The bungalow was comfortable and reasonably well appointed but they are much smaller and less private than the website implies. You are right on top of your neighbors and the outdoor seating areas all look at other bungalows. The unit contained one small table for eating, two dining chairs and one small armchair. There really is not a place for 2 people to sit and have a conversation. For this amount of money I could have booked and Airbnb with 3 bedrooms, a pool and a hot tub.

Positive: The views! Negative: Wasn't thrilled about the fact that the shower had clearly not been cleaned (hairs on walls and floor)The location is less remote than I expected, being right off the main road, and you can hear the constant flow of cars whenever outside.

This is essentially an elevated Airbnb - no reception, totally remote, no employees there to assist. Visited in 2022 - google reviews had been deleted so reposting. Rooms were well decorated but could have been cleaner. We had issues with mice in our room - they were in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Had a very difficult time getting in contact with staff to get another room. Eventually we did, but would not recommend. Benefits are a great nature filled area, but would recommend getting an actual hotel or better rental for this price.

Awful experience. Booked a room in the afternoon. Arrived just after 8pm. There was nobody on site to assist us. Called and spoke to a woman who had us send credit card picture, drivers license picture, various checks, several texts and phone calls. An hour later, still sitting in the parking lot in the cold she was unable to let us in a room or give us a refund. We went down the road and found a room easily.
