The Bitter Goose Lodge

Very pleasant place! Close to Raystown lake and a lot of hiking trails nearby. It was so quiet and dark at night, very peaceful, especially if visiting from a city. The staff was friendly and helpful, but there is still plenty of privacy in the cabins.

What a wonderful getaway with my girls for there birthday! So much snow and even more fresh snow during our stay in the cozy lodge. Sled riding, games, movies, dinners in and of course hot chocolate filled our days and nights. Memories my family will remember fondly. We have stayed almost yearly during summers since 2009 however this was our first lodge stay and it was perfect!! The lodge was clean, stocked with all but our food we brought and we felt so relaxed during our stay. The owners Randy and Connie could not be more accommodating. Can not wait for our return stay!

We have been going to the bitter goose for 22 years. The previous owners were absolutely wonderful! Under new management now…. Not so good. -First we were told that the lodge would have starlink internet. We had no tv, no WiFi all week. Router and extenders were at the cabins, but would not reach to the lodge, the new owners were made aware of this, nothing was even attempted to do anything about it. - On Friday, the pool was so low on water that the pump was sucking air. Again the owners were made aware via email in which I walked halfway to the pool to get the email to send. Received a reply, again had to walk to get service and they responded for us to turn the pump off if the pool was low on water. This is our vacation, we are not maintaining their pool. If you are looking for a place away from it all this is a great place to stay. Cabin was clean. Wife and I were here for an anniversary retreat. No one bothered us at all. Price was very affordable. If you are looking to hit the night life at a club...this is not the spot...an outdoor fire or just lounging around you are at the right place. The area is family friendly and the cabin is big enough for a family of 4 or 5.

We stayed in a cabin this week as a last minute getaway to Raystown lake. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the cabin was. It had everything we needed. The cabins are very private and peaceful. We spent the day on the lake and the evenings at the pool and our campfire. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The owners were so nice and helpful. Do not hesitate to stay here. We will be back.
