The Antler Motel

Passing by town when my wife and I’s vehicle broke down, We were towed to Antler Motel to be dropped off for the night. When we arrived, the host was very welcoming and even helpful with our luggage, and also his little dog was welcoming too. We really appreciate the friendliness and hospitality in a stressful time, and also, were very welcoming and accommodating to our dog. Thanks again!

Old building with old carpet, very unattractive location. Clean bedding and towels. Beds were comfortable. Terrible internet TV connection for their Roku TV and terrible internet connection. Small refrig, small microwave and in room coffee worked perfectly. Minimal daily maid service and floor did not get vacuumed well. Front desk staff essentially non-existent. At check in was charged for the entire reservation and when we left one day early, the front desk office was locked and no one was available to assist us. Called and spoke with 2 people the day we left and the next day and was informed that a manage would call back. NO return calls.

TV requires WiFi connection, but it wouldn't connect to the Orbi unit right next to it. Window in bathroom doesn't seal, leaking cold winter air into the room.

Very dark rooms. The closet where the microwave and table is is completely dark unable to be used. There are only two dim lights in the room. We had to bring in a camping lantern in order to see in that corner and use the microwave. The TV is a streaming only TV that requires subscriptions to watch any programs. Worthless. The TV could be a phishing trap to encourage people to log in with their personal login information which then can be stolen. The bathroom appears to be newly renovated. Nice refrigerator with small freezer attached.

Yuck. The bathroom hasn't been cleaned in several days, including a used and un-flushed toilet. Dirty sink, hairs in shower, carpet needs cleaning, bathroom door didn't open or close without serious muscle. The rest of the hotel was old but serviceable, but for $90 a stay I expect the bathroom to be clean. Also, our room had an unlocked door that opened to the hot water heater tank for the whole wing of the hotel. Bathwater was a rusty color. Washcloth (black, as were the towels) exuded black dye when squeezed. Extremely rude service and bizarre standards of cleanliness. Very unsuitable for families with small kids. Don't stay here unless you bring your own cleaning supplies.
