Fossil Butte Motel

Overall it was great! The room we were in was updated other than the bathroom, but the bathroom was still in good condition. Only downside was the people staying next to us. The walls were easily heard through and they got upset that out baby was crying at one point and pounded on the wall angrily a couple of times...but we could hear them talking the rest of the night and early morning. But service and employees were great!

For our short stay in Kemmerer, WY, the Fossil Butte Motel was a diamond in the rough. We always try to stay at non-chain motels/hotels when possible, so this place checked that box. It was affordable, clean, had a comfortable bed, a small fridge, a tub/shower combo in the bathroom, free wi-fi, and parking right outside the door. They provide a boot tray inside the door for outdoorsy people who tend to get muddy/dirty while hunting or looking for fossils. Staff was friendly and helpful. Motel was easy driving to restaurants/gas/shopping/coffee/fossil galleries. Would highly recommend a stop at Fossil Butte Motel!

Gave a 4 rating based on comparison of local motels. Very few places to stay in the area. Older motel but very clean. Had 2 queen beds, one was terrible and the other was very comfy. Very few restaurants in town so got food at grocery store. Had good streaming choices which is better than crappy TV. Full coffeemaker in room, which is a big plus.

We booked this motel while on a road trip and wanted to go to the fossil safari. Lady working was friendly. We had an end room. I’m reviewing room #14. Our room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked. Bed and bedding were fresh. It was quiet and we had a good nights sleep.

This place was good. It was clean and spacious. Billing was a bit strange and confusing through Expedia. Expedia charged one price but then the bill I was shown at the hotel was different. Finally after much investigation we found that the price the hotel was showing us was the price Expedia allowed them to charge (less Expedia's fees). So, if you book through Expedia just don't ask for a bill at the hotel. It will only confuse you. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable. Note: if you are in Kemmerer on a Sunday good luck finding a place to eat dinner. Literally everything except Pizza hut is closed.
