The Altair Bay Harbor Hotel

What a strange place. Not nearly as nice as the pics, and certainly not worth the price. The gym smells STRONLY of food. The Saturday breakfast was something you’d see at an upscale holiday inn. See attached picture of the coffee “experience” there. I’m not even joking. Some of this might be because I stayed here on a holiday (Saturday). It’s not necessarily a terrible place, just not anything like what is advertised. Heads up.

The hotel was very clean and welcoming. At the reception, there was a very nice guy who provided good service, but there was also another girl who was quite unpleasant. The bellboy who helped us with our luggage was impatient. ||||We are religious Jewish people who observe Shabbat, so we had to check out after Shabbat ended. They charged us $50 per hour! They gave us a discount, so we paid a total of $200, but we had no choice because we are a family with small children. ||||The room was very clean and tidy, but there was no crib for the baby. However, the room service was very quick. ||||There was also a problem at dinner - we asked what time to arrive and were told whenever we wanted until 9 PM. We arrived at 8 PM, and it turned out that the meal was served in courses, and everyone had a

Nice enough hotel, but certainly not worth the price. We went for an event and we were under the impression that The Altair is a fancy hotel, so I didn't mind spending the money for a nice weekend at a conference. I was a bit surprised when I got there. The lobby is tiny. The rooms are ok but certainly not worth the price. And watch out for the hidden charges! Everything costs extra. $8 for a bottle of water in the room??? We paid for a suite as we were bringing a few kids along and found out that only 2 people get breakfast included in the rate even though the rate we paid was for 6. I had to pay for 4 other breakfasts every day. The restaurant is nice and the food is delicious but if you want a cappuccino or Latte with breakfast, that's $5 more. I had a very nice day with my family for the Christmas holiday. The hotel is very accommodating. The the customer service is excellent. The food is great and the two bedroom suite was absolutely stunning. I will be staying here again. I plan to stay here On my birthday coming up best part is the hotel is only eight minutes away from my building. Thank you so much.The Staff was so accommodating to my handicapped family.
