4x4 or AWD vehicle necessary to access!!! DO NOT attempt to bring a vehicle here that does not have at least 8.5" of ground clearance (preferably more). My Subaru Forester's skid plates definitely bumped a few rocks decently hard, thankfully not enough to cause any damage. The campsite itself is lovely and very peaceful. I wish that the windmill wasn't broken, but it's still a gorgeous spot. The hills protect from the wind decently, but you still want to make sure you have a sturdy tent. Stargazing is incredible, prefect spot to bring a telescope. There's a fire pit and a small shelter with a picnic table near the basin. Really loved this spot.
