Tanglewood Resort on Lake Texoma, an Ascend Collection Resort

My date made reservations for us at the Lakeside Restaurant at Tanglewood Resort and when we arrived we learned it was closed for the season. That could have easily turned into a disappointing evening but Connie immediately stepped in and took ownership of the situation. Without hesitation she arranged a complimentary dinner for us at the Bar and Grill and made us feel completely valued as guests. Jamie then took care of us and she was outstanding. She was running the entire grill and still delivered flawless service. She was attentive, professional and genuinely welcoming. The food was five star quality and her service matched it. Nice little spot on the Lake Texoma. We arrived on a Friday night and the check in was quick and we got a nice room facing the lake on the top floor. Very quiet rooms, Tv's need upgrading and the tub was VERY slow to drain. The in-door pool was worth a visit, so bring your swimsuit. Wish there was more access to the lake but the property was nice to walk around. Little breakfast options but this is the slow season. Will be back another time of the year. We stayed in the recently renovated building. It is very nice. The shower was amazing!! There was lots of pressure but gentle. The whole unit was roomy. With 3 adults, it was great to have a king and 2 queen beds. Lots to explore. We will be back next year.

Went for a family reunion and would not go here again. Beware of prices you will be charged. When I checked in it was the price I was quoted when I booked it and when they ran my credit card. $247. When I checked out it was $347. $100 more! They did not tell me up front or when I checked in that there were also DAILY resort fees + taxes + other fees. Was not expecting that! Have never experienced that at any place I’ve stayed before. And it could definitely use some updating. Our family planner that arranged this reunion said they were very difficult to communicate with also. |Would not recommend…

Let me start by saying that the staff were so nice and helpful, from the front desk to housekeeping to waitresses. I would also like to say that I NEVER complained to any of the staff for anything or the reasons I’m about to mention, so they would have had no idea that there were any problems to fix in most cases, except they were aware that we didn’t get our Sunday room refresh when I had to go ask for things. The day we arrived, we got to the hotel earlier than expected, about 2:45pm, I believe. We went ahead to see by chance if our room was ready, but no surprise it wasn’t. I checked back periodically, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30, but still wasn’t ready. Finally at 4:50, our room was ready! Went to the room to find it was quite warm and humid feeling, but by the time we came back from our eve
