Tanglewood Acres

I stayed here five years ago on a cross country bicycle trip of my own design. It was amazing! It was affordable and well equipped. I got a campsite, fire ring, and bathroom included in the rate. The breakfast buffet, if they still serve it, was amazing! This place will forever live in my heart. The manager and the owner were so thoughtful and nice. I even took pics with them. I love this place!

This is by no means a luxury camp grounds but it has what you need to have a great time. No cell service but they have Wi fi. The owners were very nice and accommodating. They had a cookout that we missed the first night but as we were setting up, it smelled great! Some of the lots are smaller than we are used to at horse camping grounds but they had a cancellation and let us spread the two lots we planned over three lots.

Owener/operators are the nicest and most knowledgeable you will find anywhere bar none ! Camp is mostly shaded and improving year to year. Holiday weekend cookout that i challange you to find a better meal for the setting and price east of the Mississippi, I just ate a steak that covered the plate and for less than any restaurant meal i have had in my 52 years. Trails are nice, marked, shaded and normally have a water source. Now I have read the reviews stating dangerous or rocky trails, those riders need to visit some Kentucky camps and revisit their pist on this camps trails. Got youngsters come in from a hot days ride and go a mile or so to a lake for a dip, sand beach, bathhouse , very nice way to cooldown after a ride.
