Tahoe Sands Resort

They are closing this place at the end of the year and are not doing anything to keep it nice. Our rooms were dirty and very dusty. There is not always someone in the office and you are supposed to be able to reach someone in the evenings and weekends by text, but that is always not true. ||I don’t like leaving bad reviews but if you are staying here before the end of the year and have the opportunity to change your reservation - do it. I wouldn’t give them any extra money before they close.

Positive: The location right on Lake Tahoe with some chairs at the beach. Very picturesque. Unfortunately, while there was some sand on the beach, at the water's edge the sand disappeared and the bottom turned to stones. Water shoes needed! Negative: The bed was Murphy style. It was very small and the mattress probably old but certainly uncomfortable. We didn't sleep well. The room was very woody - and thus quite dark. Fortunately, there were sliding glass doors that were wide. There is no AC.

Great location. Extremely friendly staff and full of amenities. Nothing can beat free popcorn 🍿 Kayak rentals, board games, kids activities club, volleyball etc available within the resort. First impression is great. We will definitely look out for this place for future visits.

This is the first negative Google review I have ever written in my life, which should tell you how disappointing this experience was. I am not someone who normally leaves negative reviews, but I felt this was necessary. Cons: 1. Cleanliness: The room was filled with dust and clearly not cleaned properly. The carpets were extremely old and carried dust. The fan (see picture one) had a heavy layer of dust, which is not something that builds up overnight. 2. Spiders: Do not be surprised to find spiders in your room. See picture two, where a spider was under the table. 3. Bed Quality: The biggest issue. While we knew it was a Murphy bed, the mattress itself was of terrible quality. After a two-and-a-half-day stay, left with backaches because of how uncomfortable and possibly damaged the matt

Absolutely a terrible experience. We had a Studio Unit which was dingy, outdated, Noisy and extremely uncomfortable. Poor wiring inadequate for running the fans necessary to make the temperature of the unit tolerable and had small ants on the floor and countertops.|| We checked out after one night and went to a hotel. Worst experience we have had at an RCI Resort ever. Extremely dissatisfied.
