Sycamore Motel Havana Near Illinois River

Sadly, bed bugs. Well, shoot. I wanted to stop for the night to be able to circle back towards Rice Lake & see the nature I'd missed afyer dark between there & Havana. I'd seen bed bugs mentioned in a review & should have known better but another person left a review saying they were glad they'd stayed despite the negative reviews. The review mentioning bed bugs was a year old. I thought I'd talk with them & go from there. I'd been going to say that if someone isn't pretentious the place was fine. "I'd been looking for a room & found a friend," kind of things. But, this morning, I am counting bed bug bites & am up to at least 10. I haven't talked with them about it yet to see about getting a refund & to try to get them to take action to prevent others from being bitten. And, I hate to l

This hotel has been in Havana Illinois for a very long time. The owner is in the process of updating it. The room we were in was a nice size with two double/queen beds. It had a seating area with a recliner, desk, and table with chairs. The mattresses were new and it appeared the carpet had been replaced as well. The shower was new and updated. Could have used a new shower head and toilet, but was clean. The linens need to be updated but are adequate. The location was great for us because our family lives in Havana. Not necessarily the most modern of hotels but sufficient with cable tv and internet. I would stay again when coming to town. I would also recommend this hotel to people traveling to the area in need of non luxury accommodations.

My gosh avoid booking here. Room was absolutely disgusting sheets were dirty, foul smell and carpet had all kinds of debris.

Dirty, no key for the door and argued with me after I had paid already on Travelocity... It was cheap, but not worth it.

Reasonably priced I guess. Room smelled old and wasn't very clean at all. No fresh roll to ran out with in first part of the day. Linens on bed was stained and had holes. Room was really small too.
