SureStay by Best Western Grayson

We stopped in around 1am on a Saturday last week to try and stay at this location. Immediately on entering, we were met with a strong chemical smell, like air freshener or very strong cleaner. The front desk agent lacked a welcoming attitude and basic customer service skills. In addition, the elevator was broken, and we didn't want to lug our suitcases up the stairs. We ended up going down the road to the Days Inn, where we had a lovely experience. I don't recommend this spot.

The rooms are SO humid. My friend's room had a "dry" button on the AC unit to dehumidify, but mine did not. Because of such high humidity the room was full of mold! Added disadvantage was there is no elevator. It's only two stories but when you have luggage that's a huge inconvenience. We were told the entire first level was full so my almost 73 year old mother had to go up two flights of stairs. I happened to be with her when she checked in so l carried her luggage along with mine. Unfortunately there's not much to choose from and the Super 8 was booked. This place is a health hazard.

We would like to commend Janie for making our stay comfortable at Sure Stay in Grayson, KY. She went above and beyond when we weren’t sure how long we would be staying because of my sister’s health. Janie made sure everything was right and comfortable for us. Was great to have breakfast each morning before going to the hospital & Carter Nursing Home to be with my sister. Janie made us feel secure & comfortable that everything was taken care of. Between her & Steph making sure our room was cleaned & we had everything we needed. Can’t say enough about the comfort. In the end my sister passed while we were there. Walking thru the doors and them showing how much they cared meant more than words can say. THANK YOU JANIE & STEPH

Positive: We were able to park close to the back door near our vehicle. Negative: We had a whirlpool suite and the water was barely warm. There was nothing that could be done.

Bathroom had some hair in the tub- otherwise was clean. Bedding was fresh and beds and floors were clean. I ended up needing to switch my 2nd night to a different best western location and they refunded me the same night and allowed me to switch locations with no hassle. It was much appreciated. Bed was very comfy and so were pillows.
