SureStay by Best Western Forsyth Decatur

We had a wonderful stay this weekend at the SureStay. It is under renovation & I just wish the renovations weren't so hush hush when booking. After we booked our confirmation email stated there would be renovations, to call & ask how it effects our stay. I called, I asked, you must ask very specific questions or they wont be answered. No one told us the pool was under renovation until we got there, BIG dissapointment for our kids. No worries! No pool, we took them to the mall right across the parking lot! Then the TV went out, no cable, mall was closed & no pool. We had the most fun we could in our room playing with the kids. I feel so bad for the staff most of all! They're trying to keep guests happy, sounds like big bosses at the top are the reason for elusive, unthruthful bookings. We t

The good - comfy bed, nice shower and clean room. But - Musty smelling when you walked into the hotel, lobby very dark, but friendly service. Elevator was a mess, carpet in halls were filthy. No milk for cereal in the morning and the coffee wasn’t great.

Positive: The rooms were fine for the price if it had been clean. It was not Negative: This whole hotel is so dirty. There was a packet floating in the open water pitcher. When I brought it to his attention, he took it out but didn't change the water!! I think he did it with his hands! dirty bedspread. there was hair and dirt in the shower

The hotel is being renovated which wasn't divulged during booking. Construction materials in the hallway and the light in our bathroom wasn't fully installed and there was plastic sheeting hanging from the ceiling. The mount and hook up for a TV in the sitting area installed but no TV. Stacks of them were outside the entrance door. He couldn't give us a different room nor was there any offer of any kind of compensation. I think it will be a nice budget hotel when finished..not sure why they are open during reno.They could have renovated a floor at a time and opened it after it was finished, keeping the unfinished floors closed until completed.

This hotel is so dirty. 1) The hallways and elevators are filthy 2) There was a packet floating in the open water pitcher. I didn't see him have anything to even take it out with do I think he did it with his hands! 3) There was a large black mark on my bedspread. I didn't need that bed so I just slept in the other but it made me wonder if they had even been cleaned. 4) there was hair in the shower and gray dirt 5) the "breakfast" was disgusting. Powdered eggs and bagels that were old. Judging by the cleanliness of the hotel, I didn't eat it but my husband tried and threw it out.
