Super 8 by Wyndham Sturgis

This review may sound a little unusual at first, but stick with me—because overall, this really is a 5‑star stay. In all honesty, this is a genuinely nice hotel. You absolutely get what you pay for, and in our case, we paid only $30/night (plus a $20/night pet fee, which felt a bit steep). Even so, the value was undeniable. The property is in surprisingly good shape. It’s clear they’ve invested a lot of time and effort into refurbishing and remodeling—fresh paint, updated areas, and ongoing improvements show they’re committed to making the place better. We were even upgraded to a jacuzzi room, which was an unexpected and appreciated touch. A few things to be aware of, none of which ruined our stay but are worth noting: “Hot breakfast” means a waffle maker and a microwave—not a full hot

Positive: Nothing Negative: Everything smelled horrible. Breakfast was concerning no single serving foodstuffs. Maintenance seriously neglected. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. This hotel should be demolished.

I reserved a suite months in advance. It had a livingroom type area, a kitchen, a separate bedroom and a balcony. When I arrived, I checked in and paid. When we walked in our room, it was 2 beds up against one wall, and a couch on the other. That's it. No kitchen, separate room, or lounging area. Plus no balcony. We talked to the man who checked us in and said someone else was in the suite we reserved. Months ago. So we got a refund, which took days to receive. Why accept reservations if you don't honor them? We stayed at Hotel Sturgis instead. They're good.

One night is fine. After that go somewhere else. Was there for 7 days for the Mustang Rally. Day four asked to have the room made up. Reply when we get to it. Never got clean sheets! Very dirty window sill (have pictures). My wife wiped it down. Emptied my own waste paper baskets. Rolled up Ball of paper all week at the side entrance. Could add more. The guy at the desk was asked for two wash clothes couldn't get off his chair and get them. "I'll have a lady get them" He was the boss! Baymount next year.

After a long day on the road, we were happy to be treated by such a great personality. The lady was so helpful while checking us in. The location is great being right off the interstate. And the breakfast was great with lots of options.
