Super 8 by Wyndham Plainview

I stayed at the Super 8 in Plainview, Texas, and was very disappointed. The hotel is rundown and not well maintained. My room was dirty - stained sheets, brown towels, and a bathroom that clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. They didn't have basic items like toothpaste, and the "continental breakfast" was just watery coffee and cereal - no eggs, bacon, or sausage. The Wi-Fi was also extremely poor, making it impossible to get work done. Overall, this hotel needs major improvements in cleanliness, service, and guest care. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because right now it's not a place I would recommend.

Service was friendly and helpful. Location was pretty convenient. The room had a faint smell of cigarette smoke. When I turned on the shower and switched from tub faucet to shower head the valve didn't move. The shower head barely sprayed and most of the water went down the tub drain from the tub spout. The platform style beds are being replaced. They're metal and my wife banged her leg on something underneath the mattress. If you're looking for a "buffet" they have free breakfast snacks. Pre-packaged muffins, instant oatmeal, and a cereal bin. If you're looking to stay somewhere comfy for a few days, it's not here. If you just need a bed to crash for the night and a bowl of cereal in the morning, this is an affordable choice.

Super 8's aren't consistent from one location to another. The room rate was good. The room was clean and had no issues other than there not being nearly enough outlets near the bed. Room was clean. There was plenty of hot water along with great water pressure. Public areas are dated and dingy. The breakfast offering was packaged items, weak coffee and really not worth coming down for. If you don't need a pool, or expect a good breakfast in the morning, and are there to just stacy one night, it's fine.

Terrible place! We booked online and arrived a week later ready to sleep around 11:00. Only to be told they could see we had a reservation but they didn’t have a room. Apparently the Walmart distribution workers had all the local hotels booked. So we left and it took us awhile to find somewhere to stay. But to make things worse. They still charged our card. I spoke with the hotel manager. She tried to claim we were “ no shows”! I told her to check her camera. But then she said one of the employees remembered me. Ok great! Waited a week still no reimbursement. Called again just to say she would look into it. And call me back. She never called back. We ended up filing a dispute through our bank and won. I would never recommend staying here. But after seeing the reviews I’m glad we didn’t. Te

So far this hotel has not been worth the money. The toilet ran most of the night. The room wasn't cleaned as it should be. No elevators to the 2nd floor. There is a used bar of soap in the shower. The breakfast really sucks. You have your choice of toast or cereal. That is it.
