Super 8 by Wyndham Monmouth IL

Would not recommend First thing is they put me on the second floor I have 2 babies and we had 2 strollers had to carry it all up the stairs didn’t see an elevator anywhere, went to get a bucket of ice and the machine doesn’t work. In the morning it states free breakfast well they only had the dollar store Mr freshly honey buns and there was only 3 we had 2 adults 4 kids. Was only able to get a 1/2 cup of coffee. My son wanted to use the pool of course that wasn’t available either although it states they have a pool. There was no water in it. Was disappointed and in my opinion a rip off.

I’ve stayed here routinely for a few years, I have a child attending Monmouth College. The staff are helpful. The property is better than I have ever seen it. Pool is nice, rooms very clean. Excellent customer service. Easy check in/out. I will stay here again.

Positive: Location Negative: No coffee maker.. lousy breakfast choices.? no ice maker and pool drained (we were not going to use but if we had kids it would have been an issue) charged us $25 for our dog and website said $20, no bedspreads on the beds.

Bed was nice and comfy and excellent customer service. We were driving through the night and got tired and the manager gave us a good deal. The air freshener in the room is my only complaint but I sprayed my perfume and that smell was gone and all was good. No coffee at 5am.

After reading decent reviews, decided to give it a try. Do NOT stay here! Room has a yellowing air freshener and I am having an allergic reaction to this smell. Most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. The queen beds are actually full size. No coffee at 5 a.m. Will be contacting Wyndham corporate tomorrow over this air freshener and asking for a refund. I spent 6 hours in the hotel room and had to spend the rest sleeping in the car. No one working in middle of night. Pretty sure employee is asleep somewhere. Very unfortunate because I visit Monmouth frequently and the other hotel has gone down significantly too.
