Super 8 by Wyndham Marion

This place has the feeling of a TRUCKER'S motel for 1. The lobby is small and weird. The 1st floor is downstairs, the 2nd floor is upstairs from the lobby! The place is clean all around but it smells funny. Like a curry/insense blend that is not complimentary. The breakfast was barely stocked. Their gravy had no sausage at all and my half and half was about as thick as their gravy. They kept putting the butter packets in the fridge making the too stiff to spread on toast or biscuits. No eggs, no fruit. Just not good for the rate being charged. A bigger cleaner brighter hotel with suites cost less in a bigger city. This was right on a truck stop. Conviently located close to the highway and McDonald's was the only plus. I will find a different location next time, even if I have to pay $20 a

It's an older property that is apparently undergone some recent upgrades. Walls were freshly painted, bathroom was remodeled. The room was clean, and everything worked well. The room also had a mini fridge and a microwave in it. Location was very good, right off of Route 13 and I-57, very easy to get to. Staff was friendly as well. Hopefully the remainder of the upgrades will get completed soon as well. The furnishings in the room are outdated, and the carpet definitely needs to be replaced. There was a bit of an odor in the room, it seemed to be coming from the carpeting. The breakfast selection was limited, biscuits and gravy and a waffle maker, some cold cereal and toast. That was it. Our room was newly remodeled. Very clean. The staff were all efficient abd pleasant to talk with. The location was convenient for exploring the area. The price was almost $40 less than Super 8 in Carbondale, 13 m8les away. The breakfast was simple and ok.

Stayed two nights. The ladies working the front seat were super friendly upon check in. Rooms were quite and comfortable , the shower was amazing and remained hot thru my entire shower , bed linens & towels were fresh and crisp white clean. My only complaint was no parking our second night because 2different vehicles (van and truck both with trailers attached )parked in a way that they took up 4-5 parking spaces .and to those selfish people .. May you have the day you deserve .

Positive: Has free wifi but signal is only reachable in the front half of the building Negative: Dirty stained furniture in the room. Hallway carpet looked like it hadn?t been vacuumed all week. Very poor lighting in the bathroom
