Super 8 by Wyndham DeKalb IL

Positive: The towels were good. Negative: My tires were slashed 08/22, by 2 guests, all within the same party, check in 08/19. 08/22 I was asked by guest room 220 to leave, I packed and vacated 930pm. Left for food, came back to book diff room, & before I could do so, tires were slashed, 1230am

Can not get over how clean and spacious our room was! It was close to everything! The owners and staff were very sweet. Beds are big and comfortable.

Two of the staff members are absolutely amazing (Chris and Martin), but the rest of the staff do not want see or help guests. On our last day and the conclusion of the complementary breakfast (which was not so great) we were asked to LEAVE because the staff did not want people to watch her clean! Flies are all over the breakfast area. The breakfast options are not like most Super8 Hotels - the coffee appeared to be very old and bitter. Blood stains on the comforter and linens. Pool locked 24/7. Apparently they have a fitness center that I was asked to review, but never saw it. This was far the worst hotel stay that I have had in over a decade.

Just beware that this motel charges an additional $30 as a room deposit and they lie when they say it's fully refundable. I contacted them twice about reversing the charge and the first time they said they did, the second time they hung up on me. Very unscrupulous practice.

Well if you want your classic dirt bag motel this is it. If you enjoy the smell of mildew ask for room 19. I highly recommend if they take a security deposit. Video the room with the TV on, (with the date) before staying and after leaving.
