Super 8 by Wyndham Cherokee

Very good hotel overall (7.6/10). Stayed 2 nights in May. Very nice, spacious room. Everything worked as it should. Reasonably comfy bed, and good pillows. Shower is very good, with a good spray and very good water pressure. TV reception wasn't good. Channel wise it was basic cable at best (not a lot of channels) and no guide, not even a channel list. Staff were great, very welcoming and friendly. Convenient location, close to lots of food and activities. Parking was very good. I would stay again, as for the price paid ($102 total per night) it was decent value.

It was “okay.” Check-in went well. Staff was nice, although quite unprofessional in appearance. They extended our .com reservation with no issue. Our room was clean and bed comfy. Old faucet sprayed water all over the place when you turned it on. Had to put chair in front of AC to keep it from blowing cold air directly on bed. Jacuzzi tub didn’t work and could use some clean caulk. No breakfast. Our biggest problem was the lack of housekeeping. It was finally cleaned on the fourth day after two requests. It is pretty on the outside, though.

Positive: The location was great and we were able to walk to eat and shop. DQ next door. The front desk was amazing. She was helpful and friendly. I've seen comments about the lack of breakfast, but she was upfront about it when we checked in. Muffins & juice :-) Negative: We didn't receive cleaning service in our room during our stay (Wednesday-Sunday). It wasn't a huge deal, as we got extra towels from the front desk. It would been nice to at least have the garbage collected.

Super 8 in Cherokee was honestly a different experience for us - in a good way. We had stayed at a Super 8 once before and had a pretty bad experience, so we were quite skeptical while booking this one. However, after reading the Google reviews and considering its close proximity to the Visitor Center and the Great Smoky Mountains, we decided to give it a try. I’m happy to say that we don’t regret the decision at all, especially for the price we paid. The stay was comfortable, the room was clean, and the beds were good and comfortable. The staff was polite and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, for the location, cleanliness, comfort, and value for money, this Super 8 exceeded our expectations and turned out to be a pleasant stay.

We stayed here when we were visiting Cherokee because we couldn't find another hotel that we wanted to stay at for a reasonable price due to it being a weekend. Overall the hotel was really great. Quiet and friendly staff. The lady at the front desk was super nice and extremely helpful. I could not have been happier. Of course, the hotel was stuck in the past a bit. The microwave looked like it was straight from the 80's, but it worked and was super clean inside so I couldn't complain.
