Sun Canyon Lodge

I booked a guided archery hunting trip through Sun Canyon Lodge and was not disappointed. After researching some different options, I think the value for the price is very good with these guys. ||My trip was at the Cabin Creek Camp with a 15 mile horseback ride in and back. The hunt was for one week. The price included a stay at a lodge cabin the night before riding in. They also provide a meal after the ride out. ||The guides were phenomenal, with excellent knowledge of the area. The terrain can really be a push here, but horses were available to make getting into some areas easier, but expect to do some serious hiking. ||The ratio of guides to hunters on this trip was one guide to two hunters, which worked very well for setting up on hunts. My son and I had a wonderful elk hunt out of the lodge with Sun Canyon. The most beautiful scenery you could ever ask for. we saw tons of wildlife and couldn't have asked for more gracious hosts. This is a top notch operation with top notch staff. I would recommend them to anyone

In Oct 2025 I was able to go on a guided horseback hunt in the Bob Marshall Wilderness with my best friend, and my son (as a graduation present). To say I was excited was an understatement. Nikki was very nice, the lodge was cool, and the area was gorgeous! The morning of the ride in we were matched with our horses (shoutout to Basin,Tut and Mochy)! The ride in was partially terrifying (on the side of a cliff for 1.5 miles- not joking). The scenery (after not dying) was gorgeous! When we finally arrived in camp we were sore, but excited. Rustic lodge with cabins for rooms to stay in. Not fancy, but good rooms. There is a bath & shower house for lodge guests. This place is fairly remote and at the base of a large cliff face. They do have WiFi in the lodge/dining room. Every May they have a Sasquatch hunt - with prizes 😁👍🏻

Recently my wife and I did a pack trip with Sun Canyon Lodge and Outfitters into the Bob Marshall Wilderness. This was an outstanding 6-day trip going all the way to the Chinese Wall. The scenery was unmatched. But what made the trip even better was the outstanding staff. Sun Canyon Lodge and Outfitters is a small family run and operated business with everyone in the family pitching in to run the business on the ground. They hire outstanding Packers and Guides and many people working behind the scenes at the lodge. The riding stock (horses) are well trained, and the pack mules and horses are well taken care of.
