This is a dry camping spot. There is no potable water available, the bathrooms were locked, and the spots were not very well designated. I was the only person staying here during a two day period in the area. I found a parking spot and slept well. As a note, there is no signage, so make sure to check on the map to ensure you are in the right spot. If you are visiting someone at Montana Wilderness School of the Bible, or climbing a nearby mountain, this would work well due to the proximity to the school and Dearborn trailhead. The lake is present, and there is water in it as of April, 2023.

Nice little spot off of the road. Good if you just need a quick spot to pull over and sleep, can't imagine spending multiple days here. Beautiful scenery and lake. It's the middle of June and the bathrooms are padlocked, not sure why.

This is just empty land with a drive and a circle among fairly tall grass. It sits next to a lake. There are no services (there may be bathrooms at the front of the campground but we didn't take notice). But it is absolutely beautiful and works great as a boondocking/dry camping spot!

In it's time (before the '88 fires), Bean Lake used to be a nice place to camp and fish; year 'round. The freshwater springs that fed it, no longer feed it. Dunno if it was because of an earthquake or just the result of ash and silt clogging the main feeds to the lake or not. t's pretty much a dead lake now. There are no fish in it and in the middle of summer, the stench is enough to keep flies away. I definitely wouldn't recommend swimming in it either. There are no trees or anything for shade and windbreaks. Now it's just a place to stay if you are going to check out the activities in the area; like the Deerborn Trailhead.

Not much of a campground, but its free and there’s a outhouse, as well as a great view of the stars. Make sure your tent is securely staked down on windy days, and watch for cows wandering through your campsite.
