Sugar Tree Inn

Brenda and Kevin and their family have created a magical getaway at the Sugar Tree Inn! They welcome you as if you just left yesterday, then leave you to it, magically reappearing to serve delicious breakfast and dinners. We were in one of the two upstairs rooms in the main lodge, and loved the “honor system” tavern that was a mini kitchen downstairs. The offer of free cold water in reusable bottles tells you all you need to know about this place. It is welcoming, supportive of a self-sufficient stay, and a place I know we will return to. My wife and I stayed at Sugar Tree several times this fall, the latest visit was early this month (Dec., 2025). This neat place is nestled in the mountains and is very close to the Blue Ridge and the Shenandoah Valley. Hick, I reckon it actually is in the Blue Ridge and the Shenandoah Valley!! There are great outdoor hikes like Crabtree Falls nearby. Our hosts; Brenda, Kevin, Gerry and Donna all made us feel at home. Breakfast is included and it is excellent. Each of our rooms had an easy to use wood stove and was very comfortable. We felt like we were home. Truly.|Thanks for the hospitality. We hope to see you again soon.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful inn. We stayed in the St. Mary’s cabin, which was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully appointed. It was so refreshing to disconnect from the outside world and fully enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The innkeepers were incredibly friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with them each day. Breakfast each morning was delicious and a lovely start to our day. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Great Inn, We were greeted expectedly upon arrival by Jeff. Both he and Becky were very nice, friendly and accommodating hosts. The breakfast was a great homemade delicious, hearty egg soufflé. The Sugar Tree room in the main lodge was a large, spacious room. With a wooden-burning fire place the room was filled with romance! There was a large whirlpool tub in the room. And the romance package was carefully curated by Becky. The roses were hot pink, baby pink and white. The same colors of our wedding. We were only able to stay one night due to a road trip to Pennsylvania, but we would love to come back again for a longer stay. We absolutely love the robes!! We stayed at the Sugar Tree inn for one night while visiting family in the nearby area. The room (Rockbridge) was very comfortable and Kevin and family made us (including our dog) feel right at home. The room was immaculate and so quiet, we loved the fireplace and were very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was beyond delicious and everyone was extremely friendly. We are planning on staying again and this time hopefully on a weekend when we can have dinner at the inn.
